You’re invited to participate in the First Annual One-Minute Film Competition.

This competition, developed by BHS teachers Thato Mwosa and Elon Fischer, and sponsored by BIG, challenges teens ages 13-19 who attend Brookline Public Schools to make a one-minute long film. For the first competition, the theme of these themes is “Dreams.”

January is a season for dreams: MLK Day reminds us of his Dream speech; the New Year reminds us to make resolutions – dreams – for how we hope to be for the next twelve months; the cold, dark days and nights give us extra motivation to sleep and thus more time to dream; and the light of January turns cityscapes into seeming dream worlds. You should interpret this topic in any way that resonates with you. You might also think about the ways dreams and dreaming can be represented cinematically. Your goal is to explore some element of “dreams” in one-minute, to share your vision through the medium of film.
