Please consider supporting BIG’s work in the Brookline community and beyond View this email in your browser Dear <<First Name>>, As the year is coming to a close, BIG’s team is grateful for the support of our community and members like you. Thanks to you and your fellow members, 2018 was filled with successful community arts events and forums, educational programming, community coverage, filmmaking and screenwriting competitions, local television shows, classes, and much more. You may have also received a letter in the mail recently from us, and we would like to also extend our deepest thanks to you via email for being a part of BIG and helping us accomplish these outcomes and more in 2018! Commitment to 21st Century & Creative Arts Job Training: 20 high school students in Brookline graduated from our new job training program receiving an hourly wage for their training/work hours, thanks to the generous support of the Brookline Community Foundation. Facilitating Community Dialogue: 200 residents attended a community conversation at the Coolidge Corner Theatre where we screened BIG member Aynsley Floyd’s film A New Lease and hosted an interactive panel discussion on affordable housing. Crowdsourcing Creativity: The Brookline community collaborated to help BIG recreate the famous parade scene from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off for Crowdsourced Boston, the collaborative filmmaking project that BIG is spearheading for the second year in a row. Participatory Storytelling in Brookline & Beyond: People from Brookline and beyond have told their families’ stories of how they came to America as part of our Arrival: Immigration in Full Frame project, thanks to the support of the Brookline Community Foundation and HUBweek. As always we have loved every part of serving the Brookline community, but unfortunately, community media as we know it is changing.  Due to changes in the regulatory environment, BIG has lost $40,000 in funding from cable companies this year and expects to lose nearly double this amount in 2019. We hope to continue offering all of our media services, but find we cannot do it without your help. For the first time in 35 years, BIG is asking our community to support our work through paid memberships, donations and other contributions. Please consider making a tax-deductible year-end contribution of any amount to help us continue the critical youth job training, media literacy, community filmmaking and coverage of public forums, and to support government transparency. Donations of $100 or more will automatically grant you BIG membership for 2019. Please join us by making your gift via on our online donation form at www.brooklineinteractive.org/donate or by sending a check to: Brookline Interactive Group 46 Tappan St Brookline, MA 02445 Thank you for your continued support, and wishing you and your family a warm and happy holiday season.
