Hometown Media Awards – 2023
The Hometown Media Awards is the Foundation of the Alliance for Community Media’s annual awards program to promote and honor standout producers in community media and community radio who utilize Public, Educational, and Governmental (PEG) access channels to get their message to their local community. Nearly one thousand entries are submitted each year, resulting in over 100 award winners.

Brookline Juneteenth 2023 Celebration
The Town of Brookline is pleased to invite residents to a Freedom March from the Florida Ruffin Ridley School to the Brookline Avenue Playground, for a celebration of Juneteenth — a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans on June 19, 1865. The celebration will feature free food, entertainment, games, crafts, raffles, and music.

JFK and LBJ: The New Frontier and the Great Society – Episode 8: The Establishment of the NPS Sites and the Presidential Libraries
Join Park Rangers Jonathan Streff of John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site and Joseph Owen of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, with moderation from Superintendent Joy Kinard of the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site, Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site, and the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail as they discuss the establishment of the National Park sites and Presidential Libraries dedicated to President Kennedy and President Johnson.
Partnering with Alan Price, Director of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum as well as Mark Lawrence, Director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and Museum, they seek to answer the following questions: What are the origin stories of John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site, Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, and the LBJ Presidential Library and Museum? How do these parks/institutions interpret the lives of these men? What are the most important lessons we can learn in the 21st century from these figures?
