JFK and LBJ: The New Frontier and the Great Society – Episode 4: Two Congressmen and Two Senators: The Legislative Years
Join Park Rangers Jonathan Streff of John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site and Joseph Owen of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, with moderation from Superintendent Joy Kinard of the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site, Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site, and the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail to examine the significant differences and similarities between President Kennedy and President Johnson’s entry into politics and legislative office. They will discuss what led both men into politics, what skill sets each brought to the table, and, ultimately, who history has perhaps determined to be the better legislator.
