The Interactive Community Project: Brookline Marathon Moments Initiative
For this project, BIG, the Public VR Lab and Traces.io are partnering to create stories about a beloved local event: the Boston marathon and place them to be discovered in augmented reality throughout the two miles through our hamlet of Brookline.
We hope these videos will help our local runners, former runner, local business, charity or supportive friend or family member document your Marathon Moment! This project supports Brookline by placing the stories of our community all along the Marathon route and bringing visitors to Brookline to “find” the stories in an innovative new technology for storytelling.
Share Your Marathon Moment
The Boston Marathon touches many lives throughout each mile of the course and beyond. Everyone has a story to tell: whether you are running the marathon for a charity, qualified for this elite race, waiting along the route for a friend or family member to pass by, or experienced shock and sadness after the events of the 2013 Marathon – We want to hear your story!
How to Share:
Come into Brookline Interactive at 46 Tappan St in Brookline to share your story and be part of an interactive, participatory media project! Click here to sign up! We’ll record your story, send you a link of the edited video, add it to a group story project, and share it digitally in virtual/augmented reality along the marathon route. Anyone with the TRACES.io app on a smart phone can then discover all of Brookline’s stories while watching the marathon. Businesses, runners, charities, and the whole community can participate in this fun and innovative project!
